GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

TrailWatch Volunteers will work for the safety, security, and protection of greenway users and park resources by:

• Promoting better understanding and appreciation of the value of greenways and nature parks to the community.

• Serving as Public Relations Volunteers by answering greenway users’ questions.

• Assisting the Park Police, Metro Police, and other Government officials by monitoring and reporting public activity as it relates to Park Ordinances and, if necessary, by testifying against offenders arrested by law enforcement officials.

• Acting as eyes and ears of the Park Police and the Metro Police.

• Being non-confrontational in all aspects of the program and making the safety of volunteers and all other greenway users the highest priority.

• Reporting maintenance needs and other information to the appropriate park officials.

• Giving greater visibility to the Greenways for Nashville organization and the Greenways Commission of Metro Parks.
