Greenways for Nashville is a private,
non-profit organization raising public awareness and
private support for building greenways – linear parks
and trails – throughout Davidson county. Greenways for
Nashville works in
partnership with the Metro Parks Department Greenways
Commission.
Greenways offer natural open space for retreat and
renewal, as well as multi-use trails for walking, biking
and skating. Greenways help preserve wildlife habitat,
reduce flood impact and ensure clean air and water. A
countywide greenways system will also mean that riding a
bike or walking becomes a practical alternative for some
trips – and we can all enjoy the resulting clean air.
We need your help to make these goals a reality! Your
membership in Greenways for Nashville provides much
needed funding for this work.
By becoming a member you will discover . . . .
- A wonderful linear park system that is
developing throughout Davidson County because of the
support and volunteerism of community-minded
citizens like you.
- Trails that wind through nature parks, along
riverbanks and creeks, and through urban areas
alike, close to home, where you can ride your
bicycle with family and friends; find an alternative
way to get to work or shopping; and train for that
upcoming marathon without the distraction of
motorized vehicles whizzing past.
- Current news on trail project progress, trail
openings, and other trail related announcements,
notices, and special events.
- Volunteer opportunities that will allow you to
become more involved in the greenways initiative
such as trail work, creek clean-ups, staffing
promotional booths, serving on committees, helping
with fundraisers and special events.
- Members receive the quarterly Greenprint e-news,
invitations to special events and trail openings,
greenways progress updates and information, and
opportunities to become involved in the development
of a nationwide growing greenways movement right
here at home.
