Richland Creek Greenway Flood Cleanup
|
|
getting involved
|
Anyone interested is welcome to get involved in
Greenways for Nashville various working committees, including
Fundraising, Special Events and Programs. The committees are where a lot of the
hands-on work gets done and (usually) where a lot of fun
is had.
The Fundraising Committee focuses on funding sources -
public, private, and non-profit -- for land acquisition
and greenway development. Some of this committee's
activities may merge with those of the Special Events
Committee.
The Special Events Committee organizes GFN membership
activities like informational days, members events, parties or hikes,
and
ground-breakings.
There are also citizen groups which have formed to
support specific greenway projects. These groups include
the
Friends of Beaman Park, the
Bordeaux/Whites Creek Greenway Alliance, and
Friends of Shelby Park and Bottoms. For information
on joining any of these groups, click on the above links
or contact the greenways office, 862-8400.
Of course, the easiest way to get involved with
greenways is by becoming a member of Greenways for
Nashville.
Become a member by
making a tax-deductible
contributing
of $35 per
individual or $50 for a family. You will
stay informed and involved in a greenways initiative
that will leave a legacy of green for generations to
come! |
To get involved, contact the Greenways for
Nashville Coordinator.
