| GETTING INVOLVED
|
Anyone interested is welcome to get involved in
Greenways for Nashville various working committees, including
Fundraising, Special Events and Programs. The committees are where a lot of the
hands-on work gets done and (usually) where a lot of fun
is had.
The Fundraising Committee focuses on funding sources -
public, private, and non-profit -- for land acquisition
and greenway development. Some of this committee's
activities may merge with those of the Special Events
Committee.
The Special Events Committee organizes GFN membership
activities like parties or hikes, volunteer days or
ground-breakings. In the future, we'll also plan grand
openings, runs and other activities.
There are also citizen groups which have formed to
support specific greenway projects. These groups include
the
Friends of Beaman Park,
The Richland Creek Greenway Steering Committee, and the
Bordeaux/Whites Creek Greenway Alliance. For information
on joining any of these groups,
contact
the Greenways for Nashville staff.
Of course, the easiest way to get involved with
greenways is by becoming a member of Greenways for
Nashville. Contact Greenways for Nashville coordinator
Jane Laub for membership information.
